Instructions

1. Talk to the children about the months of the year and particular things that
happen in certain months, such as holidays, weather, and celebrations.
2. Assign pairs of children to draw pictures for each month. Have each pair draw
their particular month's picture on one piece of paper. For example, for
February, the children could draw a snowman, a mitten, snow, a heart for
Valentine's Day, a
groundhog for
Groundhog Day, and
a tall hat for
President's day.
3. Arrange the pictures
on the calendar so
that each goes with
its appropriate month. If the calendar
already has a picture on it, glue the drawing on top
of it.
4. Photocopy the calendar and give the copies to the
children to share and use with their families.
5. Punch a hole in the top center of each page so
parents can hang it at home.
