Instructions

1. Do the following fingerplay with the children.
Cinco Vaqueros
Cinco vaqueros (hold up appropriate amount of fingers)
Riding in the desert (pretend to ride a horse)
On a hot, hot day. (wipe brow)
Un vaquero stops, (hold hands as in protest)
Stops to say, (cup hands around one side of mouth)
"Mucho calor!" (wipe brow, look tired)
"No mas, por favor!" (shake head from side to side)
"No, no, no, no, (shake your finger and shake head from side to side)
Not anymore!" (hold up hands in protest)
Ride, ride, ride, ride into town, (pretend to ride a horse)
As the sun goes down. (motion with hand like you are pushing something
down)
2. Repeat the fingerplay, with descending numbers: quatro, tres, dos, and uno.
Translation guide:
cinco vaquero(s): five cowboy(s)
quatro: four
tres: three
dos: two
uno: one
mucho calor: it's very hot
no mas, por favor: no more, please
