Instructions

1. Collect cardboard puzzle pieces from puzzles that are missing pieces.
2. Put the pieces in the Art Station along with paint and brushes.
3. Encourage the children to paint the puzzle pieces.
4. Place puzzle pieces on a piece of newspaper to dry.
5. When the puzzle pieces are dry, encourage the children to create works of art
by gluing the pieces together and onto a piece of paper.
More to do
Fine Motor: Ask the children to trace the puzzle pieces to help improve their
fine motor skills.
Literacy: Choose pairs of puzzle pieces that fit together. Write an upper-case letter
on one puzzle piece and its matching lower-case letter on the other piece to
create a letter matching game.
Math: Use the painted puzzle pieces for a sorting activity. After the children sort
the pieces by color, use the pieces for a counting activity. Count each group of
color and record the numbers on a simple graph.
