Instructions
1. Collect several jars and bottles with different diameters. Cosmetic jars are
good to use, especially those that are plastic or heavy glass that will not break
easily if dropped.
2. Place the jars on a tray to define the workspace.
3. Remove the tops from the jars, emphasizing the turn of your hand to the left.
4. Mix up the tops. Then, match the tops to the jars.
5. Screw the tops onto the jars, emphasizing the turn of your hand to the right.
6. Now invite the child to repeat the procedure.
7. This activity develops coordination, left/right discrimination, and visual
discrimination.
More to do
Vary the jars and bottles. Nuts and bolts may be used when children have
mastered handling the larger objects.
