Instructions

1. Take two photos of each child. Print them, or have them developed, no
larger than 3" x 5".
2. Cut out fish from different colors of card stock. Glue each photo to a fish
cutout. If needed, cut the photos to remove any distracting background
before gluing them. Laminate (adults only) the fish cutouts or cover
them with clear adhesive for durability.
3. You should have two fish for each child.
4. Put the photo fish into an empty wading pool or empty sand table. Give
each child a plastic shovel and a "fish bucket" and invite four children to
"dig for their friends."
5. When a child catches a fish friend, ask him to say the name of the friend
whose picture is on it. Let him fish again. Ask if the second fish matches
the first fish. If the two fish match, the child puts the matched fish in his
fish bucket. If the two photos do not match, the child throws the fish
back in the pool and tries again.
6. The game continues until all the fish have been matched.
Art: Let the children color the fish with crayons and markers before you
apply the photos.
Games: Older children can play a game of "Go Fish" with the fish shapes.
