- apples in as many different varieties and colors as possible
- knife (adult only)
What to Do
- Celebrate Johnny Appeleseed's birthday by showing the children all the different kinds of apples. If you can, try to have both an extra sweet and Granny Smith apple.
- Pass the apples around for the children to see if they feel or smell differently.
- Cut open each apple and see if the insides are the same.
- Cut the apples into slices and let the children experience the variety of different apple flavors.
