- Say the poem and do the actions.
Two little blackbirds sitting on the hill, (hold up the pointer finger of each hand)
One named Jack and one named Jill. (wiggle "Jack" and then wiggle "Jill")
Fly away, Jack. (wiggle your finger behind your back in a flying motion)
Fly away, Jill. (wiggle your other finger behind your back in a flying motion)
Come back, Jack. (bring Jack back)
Come back, Jill. (bring Jill back)
- Pretend that you and your child are Jack and Jill. Recite the poem and act out the words. For the lines that say "Fly away," find a place in the room to hide. On the words "Comeback," come out from your hiding place.
