Instructions

1. Show the children pictures of mosaics to give them an idea of how to use
pieces of paper to make a picture. Discuss what the various colors could be
used for, such as blue pieces for water or the sky, green for leaves or grass,
yellow for flowers, a car, or the sun, and so on.
2. Ask the children to cut the colored paper into strips. Then, ask them to cut
the strips into smaller pieces.
3. After the children have cut a number of small pieces, they can glue the pieces
onto white paper to create a picture.
Note: At first, it may be challenging for the children to cut with scissors. This activity
provides an opportunity for the children to cut without having to stay on lines.
