
Materials- Large, lightweight frame or framing mat
- Construction paper in a variety of colors
- Crayons
- Glitter
- Sequins
- Googly eyes
- Glue
- Scissors
- Hole punch
- Strong thread or fishing line
- Green and blue crepe paper
What To Do- Ahead of time, make or purchase a large, lightweight frameor framing mat.The frame should not have a back.
- Invite the children to draw and color a picture of a sea creature on construction paper.
- Have them decorate their creature with sequins, googly eyes, and glitter.
- When they are finished, have the children cut their creature out, turn it over, and decorate the opposite side.
- Punch a hole in the top of each child's project. Attach thread or fishing line to each creature, varying the length. Suspend the creatures from the top of the frame.The creatures should hangat different heights.
- Help the children twist the crepe paper. Fold it over at one end to reinforce it and punch a hole. Use thread or fishing line to suspend the grass from the top of the frame.
- Hang the frame in an open area or in front of a large window.
